What Are My Qualifications?
Credentials
I received my Masters of Arts in Counseling: Clinical Mental Health in 2023 and obtained my associate counseling license (LAPC) in 2024. I have completed specific training in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Since graduation, I’ve been working at an intensive community-based outpatient program for people at risk for repeat hospitalization. I am actively working toward full licensure.
School of Hard Knocks
As I mentioned on the Who I Am page, I’ve been on the other side of the therapist’s couch. Over time, I became pretty comfortable talking to my therapist. Thing is, it wasn’t always that way.
I know all about those awkward silences, emotionally draining conversations, and wondering how the hell you’re going to muster up the courage to tell your therapist about that thing you’ve never told anyone. I know what it’s like to sweat bullets because you’re dodging an issue or being less than honest with your therapist.
I can offer you compassion in session because I know how much I needed it and how grateful I was to get it. I can offer you understanding not because I know what it is to walk a mile in your shoes (because I don’t) but because I’ve experienced the relief that comes with receiving open curiosity rather than judgment in session. I have been fortunate to work with a terrific therapist who’s offered me these things and made therapy a safe place for me to be.
And that’s what I offer to you.
